The third day was hectic and exciting but lonngg… I had a 6 hour drive after a full day’s sessions. It was great though. I particularly enjoyed the peer showcases, including one on a type of modeling for DITA put on by John Hunt from IBM. The real problem I have is that despite the many great ideas and new products I saw, I still have this pesky real work to do. But when that calms down a bit, I’ll be trying some new things!
In the afternoon, I saw Rob Houser’s talk on interactivity in Captivate, particularly focusing on eLearning. Rob’s really experienced in this, and is a certified trainer in Captivate and RoboHelp and probably lots of other things. It was a great presentation with something for new users and old pros alike.
The other thing I tried for the first time was the Australian Cultural Evening (ACE). It was quite a night! I came home with marsupial stickers, vegemite, and the phrase “oi, oi, oi” running through my brain.
Now I have to get back to work!
