IEEE PCS in Hawaii

The 2009 International Professional Communication Conference will be hosted by the IEEE/Professional Communication Society this July in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our theme is “Po’okela: Promoting excellence in communication practice and theory”. There’s still time to submit paper proposals – the deadline isn’t until January 30th, a full 2 days away. The submission process is all online, so you don’t even have to worry about postmark dates or anything.

As I’ve written about before in 2006, 2007, and 2008, this conference often has a significant number of really interesting research papers, and a particularly higher percentage of international presenters and attendees than other similar gatherings. I’m hoping we can up the number of practical sessions this year, so if you have an idea, send it on in!

Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, and coconut-based undergarments will be completely optional.
